As soon as I saw The Buttery Store’s SS12 Lookbook on FashionBeans, I knew that the eponymous website would be one of my favourite places to shop.
The Buttery Store curates their range from the most cutting edge brands available around the globe – from Dr. Denim to Dr.Martens – and has been doing so since it was founded in 2011. Focusing mainly on heritage, pedigree and quality, Buttery brings it all to your front door. I’ve been keeping an eye out for any new announcements regarding their autumn/winter collection and I’m now pleased, unlike my bank account, to share the details with you.
As any fashion savvy man knows, a big trend this autumn/winter is ‘English Heritage’ – and The Buttery Store is continuing this theme throughout its collection. Using bold patterns, such as camouflage and Aztec prints, on fabrics ranging from leather to rough cord, it really gives a vintage countryside vibe.
To give you, the readers, more of an idea of the looks you can find on the website, I spoke to the team behind the scenes of the Buttery Store and picked an outfit that captures their signature AW12 feel.
In navy, especially, these pants are perfect for the cold days. As well as being in the chino style we all know and love, the cord material provides a “gritty”, wintery feel. And what’s even better is that they keep you warm in the winter and cool in the summer – an adaptive and versatile item.
Aztec print is a trend that has been with us most of this year, and by the looks of it is nowhere near going out of style. This black button-up shirt from Vanishing Elephant has vibrant red, yellow, and white prints which match the brown buttons perfectly. Forget what you think about too many patterns clashing – that rule has gone out the window as this season’s designs have come in.
An outfit isn’t complete without outerwear, and this item is one you’ll find many variations of all over the high street. The Black Bear jacket insulates with a mixture of fabrics, including a camouflage material that is printed on half of the garment.
As well as being practical, it’s very stylish. The collar is constructed in nappa leather and contrasts with the greens and browns splattered below it, and there’s even a small Hudson Wax chest pocket attached too. This unique mixture of fabrics ensures warmth is kept in but still remains lightweight – perfect for the transitional season.
Footwear is just as important as any other piece in an outfit and, in the winter months especially, men need a shoe which is both fashionable and sensible. This is where the final item comes in; boots from Pointer Five. With a distressed black leather design and off white soles, these boots provide a lot of grip to get you through all weather conditions, whilst they also look good with practically anything.
Be quick to snap up these pieces, because stock is disappearing fast!
