Topman has released the first instalment of its premium suiting collection. The collection defines itself with high quality fabrics and inspired designs that mix traditional styles with modern elements in order to produce a collection that taps in to its British heritage yet remains thoroughly up to date.
The bulk of the current collection is the Made in England range, which consists of classic English pieces with a Topman twist. The prime example of this is a selection of heritage blazers with patch pockets and elbow and shoulder patches – evoking the classic shooting jacket but in bold hues of red and yellow.
A range of suiting is also available, in muted red and navy as well as heavily textured browns. Waistcoats are a welcome addition, so suits can be worn as a two or three piece (a key trend this season). Several suits come with the unusual four button jacket, a style that evokes the military uniform and a key influence on the traditionally British style of tailoring.
The full range of premium suiting is not yet available. An expansion of the Made in England line is coming soon, adding more suiting styles as well as a selection of outerwear. In addition, a separate range will soon be launched in the form of a collaboration with the world famous Harris Tweed.
The preview shots of the Harris Tweed range carry a similar aesthetic to the Made in England collection. A burgundy suit and several blazer and waistcoat sets show how Topman has used muted colours to bring the quality construction to the forefront, while a double breasted blazer in a bold check highlights the luxury end of the spectrum.
Along with the feature, a behind the scenes video has been released showing part of the photo shoot. For more information head over to the Topman website.
