Universal Works Opens Flagship Store in London
There are some streets in London that have an inexplicable chic-ness to them; one such street is Lambs Conduit Street in Bloomsburry. The tree lined pedestrian alleyway has an abundant collection of menswear shops – and just as many impeccably dressed frequenters to cater for. The latest addition to the ever growing portfolio of retails is Universal Works debut and flagship store.
Universal works perfectly surmises the area and its inhabitant’s style: simple and classic menswear with a close attention to detail and fabrication. Long a go-to brand for shoppers requiring a laid back yet high quality wardrobe, the store is a welcome addition that is designed to showcase the entirety of the collection.
It’s hard to pick a stand out piece from the range, as every garment has the same integrity and values. Essentially, Universal Works clothing will form the classic building blocks of any man’s wardrobe, with an attention to detail rivalled only by brands that would set you back twice the price (if not more).
In many ways, Universal Works is the antidote to high-street stores churning out trend after trend, with it’s a refreshing approach certainly welcome in the current finical climate (we hate to mention the ‘R’ word but it’s unavoidable) where we desire garments with more longevity.
The store itself is a clever extension of the brands values. A compact space that is utilitarian in its design, it shows off simple products in a simple non nonsense way – we wouldn’t expect anything else, nor want it any other way.
