Designers Maria Grazia Chuiri and Pier Paolo Piccioli’s latest spring/summer 2012 collection for Valentino has managed to stay true to Valentino’s heritage and the principals the brand has become renowned for, whilst giving the collection a modern day edge.
It is clear to see from the images below that there has been increased emphasis placed on both detailing and finishes within the SS12 range. Small details are not neglected, showing great attention to detail, whilst many styles also come in a slim cut that looks to be tailored to perfection.
Earthy tones of brown, green and khaki dominate this collection with splashes of colour being utilised within some outfits – providing a striking colour blocking effect.
Overall the collection presents many looks that would be easily wearable for the everyday male – especially with slim cut trousers/chinos, blazer and outerwear taking centre stage.
However, there have been a few wild cards thrown into the mix for the more daring amongst you, such as the all over palm tree print suits, shirts, jacket and shorts! We expect that we will not be able to persuade many of you to try and rock these pieces, even though prints are set to be a huge trend this spring/summer.
