Since his first collaboration with the Vans Vault team back in 2006, Japanese designer Taka Hayashi has continued to create innovative renditions of classic Vans designs – and by the looks of it, this latest spring/summer 2012 collection is set to be another huge success for the brand.
This season’s range is due to hit Van Vault retailers this February and features three completely different designs: The TH Engineer Boot, TH Sierra Trek Hi and TH Sierra Trek Lo. All three sit upon sturdy creep soles, with each style available in two different colour ways.
The collection merges American hand crafted quality with Vans classic aesthetic and has been constructed using the finest materials, such as premium leathers and suede.
Our favourite style here at FashionBeans is the TH Sierra Trek Lo; a casual style shoe that slightly resembles a Derby silhouette. One of the key features of this design comes as a result of its construction – by incorporating both leather and suede it gives the footwear a tactile edge and a real sense of quality. Other unique detailing that makes this shoe stand out comes courtesy of the noticeable stitch pattern detail, which can be seen across the suede as well as the distinctive lace up front fastening.
With the TH Engineer Boot and TH Sierra Trek Hi being constructed predominately from premium leather, it ensures that the appearance of these styles will only grow greater over time, with the leather aging naturally to produce a real vintage feel.
The range is due for release in February 2012 – so remember to check back to see where you can get your hands on a pair.
