Abandon Ship Apparel

There are few things more exciting than true home-grown talent – and we’re not talking about dogs dancing for Simon Cowell. We’re referring to our new favourite brand: born from a series of drunken discussions in a Glaswegian bar and later founded in an East End flat, with their first ever photo shoot taking place behind the local Co-op using car lamps for lighting.

Things are a bit different now though. Abandon Ship – if you haven’t heard already – is a streetwear apparel brand established in 2011 by two Glasgow boys who wanted to address the shortage of clean, simple t-shirt designs available in the men’s fashion market.

Gambling a sizeable personal investment (including a portion of a wedding fund, which was, thankfully, later replaced), three original t-shirt designs were produced – you may already recognise the inverted cross tee as it has been plastered across Facebook and Instagram, accumulating an almost cult-like following among those ‘in the know’.

Alongside these three original designs, all of which are still available in various forms today, is a far wider range of simple yet edgy t-shirt designs that are perfect for easy, everyday dressing.

In accordance with the brand’s growing popularity, Abandon Ship has gradually and continuously expanded, now offering an array of casual wear that includes everything from jackets and hoodies to shirts and vests, as well as a range of equally cool hats and accessories. The clothing has progressed from focusing solely on the printed design, to scrutinising the fit and the feel of each individual garment.

Currently available to buy from ASOS and Foot Asylum in the UK, the brand is set to storm America and Australia later this year.
