Brioni Spring/Summer 2014 Collection
Looking to the brand’s Italian roots for inspiration, creative director Brendan Mullane introduces Brioni’s SS14 collection. The British designer, influenced by the Italian landscape and artistic impression, has developed an impressive offering, with slick styling and clean lines appearing at the forefront of the summery range.
Working in a soft, luxurious palette of blue and grey hues, exquisite tailoring and cutting techniques are complemented by glossy silks and other opulent fabrics.
Intelligent layering appears key to the brand’s desired aesthetic; helping to display contrasting colours and forms of detailing in an effortlessly refined manner. The typical Italian ethos of refinement, structure and playful formality are strong influences throughout, whilst checks and colourful trims show a close attention to detail and offering the wearer subtle style points.
Notable items within the collection include the range of muted sweaters and check suiting. However, the stand out pieces have to be the colourful macs – particularly the lilac version. A perfectly tailored cut and classic detailing ensures it remain timeless, yet the alternative colour will appeal to those more vibrant dressers with a playful edge.
So, if you’re looking to introduce some Italian-style glamour into your spring/summer wardrobe next year, Brioni are set to provide you with a luxurious and wearable option to consider.
