Call It Spring SS13 Shoe Collection
Canadian footwear label Call It Spring have released their latest campaign images and an accompanying film to showcase their new SS13 offerings. The campaign theme is ‘youth’ and features a good looking bunch in a forgotten seaside resort playing havoc and having fun, with the Californian sun in full glow.
The brand have focused on three inspirations for this particular collection, which they have deemed ‘Virtual Dream’, ‘Culture Clash’ and ‘Plastic Fantastic’.
‘Virtual Dream’ features a 1950s-inspired aesthetic, complete with pastel palette and a Grease vibe for that vintage Americana/preppy look. The styles within the line are predominantly slip-on, again reinforcing a preppy feel, so they would be perfect to wear sockless with shorts this season. Canvas boat shoes are a particular highlight and come available in retro two-tone combinations (our favourite being the grey/black colour way).
In the ‘Culture Clash’ range we see a wide variety of on trend prints and earth tones, with Moroccan/ethnic patterning, Egyptian cottons, Indonesian batik and camouflage taking centre stage. Designs available include the timeless desert boot and slip-on espadrilles – the latter in camo print being the strongest among the collection.
Finally, we have the ‘Plastic Fantastic’ range, which combines bold colours with athletic and urban detailing. Black/brown leather trainers feature alongside tie-dye slip-on models but the highlight has to be the classic canvas lace-ups. These casual shoes will effortlessly integrate into any modern wardrobe and are available in a range of stand out pastel colours for a modern edge.
