Finlay & Co. London Sunglasses
British label Finlay & Co has released their latest collection of sunglasses, with frames made from high quality wood. Whilst wood may not sound like an ideal material for eyewear, the results are beautiful and distinctive.
The brand have used superior quality hardwoods from sustainably managed sources. Each pair is handmade and completely unique – due to its own grain, character and natural finish – so no two pairs will ever be the same. They have already garnered a large celebrity following, with FashionBeans icon David Gandy recently spotted wearing a pair.
The range consists of two styles: Ledbury and Bosworth.
The Ledbury is a square wayfarer silhouette with fitted hinges for additional comfort; it comes complete with the Finlay & Co logo on the temple. The Bosworth is, perhaps, the stronger design of the two due to them featuring the increasingly popular circular frames that have steadily become a must own for SS13. Both models are minimal and classic in appearance, but the choice of material gives them added character.
Instead of colours you have wood options, with both styles available in Zebrano, Rosewood, Walnut and Ebony. The Ebony is a particular favourite of the FashionBeans team – it appears solid black upon first glance but on closer inspection you can see the beautiful wood grain detail running throughout the frame.
Although the sunglasses are undoubtedly stylish, let’s not forget the all-important sun protection. Each pair utilises lenses that provide full UVA and UVB protection, meaning you will look good whilst staying completely protected. The glasses come in a bespoke foldable case and you are provided with a lens cloth to keep your glasses looking their best.
Glasses are priced from £105-160 and you can shop the collection now at finlayandco.com.
