Floris Cambridge

For almost 300 years the Floris family name has built an impressive reputation as a purveyor of luxury scents, with celebrity clients such as Winston Churchill and Marilyn Munroe under its belt. Still offering both men’s and women’s fragrances – from the beautifully decadent flagship shop on London’s Jermyn Street, where it all began, as well as the recently opened boutique on Ebury Street, in the heart of Belgravia – under the watchful eye of the Floris family’s ninth generation, the brand’s newest fragrance, ‘Cambridge’, has just been released. The fragrance has been lovingly created to celebrate the arrival and christening of the royal baby, Prince George: a clean, fresh marine, woody fragrance with a modern amber base. Beginning with a crystal clean Marine accord and resinous green notes of galbanum and bergamot, the fragrance travels through to the heart notes of jasmine and lavender, warmed with cedarwood and fir balsam. The rich base of the fragrance is balanced with modern ambers, musks and a hint of vanilla. Cambridge has been created as part of the ‘By Request’ service: offered by the experts to let you make your own suggestions as to experiences, emotions or memories that you’d like to have brought to life in a scent. Periodically, an idea will be selected from the requests received, to be hand blended into a very limited number of eau de parfums, which will then be available for purchase either in one of Floris’ shops or online via florislondon.com. If you have your own scent suggestion for the Floris perfumers, you can jot down your ideas in the ‘By Request’ book at either of the Floris boutiques. Alternatively, send your requests by email to [email protected]. You can keep up-to-date with the most recent perfume developments due for release on the Floris Twitter or Facebook pages.
