Flying Horse Jeans
With a new store having launched in London on the 22nd of July, Flying Horse jeans bring a South East Asian twist to the aged versatility of denim trousers, alongside inventive and uniquely constructed denim apparel.
Hailing from backgrounds with Ralph Lauren and (dare I say it) Abercrombie and Fitch, the brand was founded in 2010 by David Rix and Sanjay Madan. Focusing on a concept on nomadic travels around Asia, the collection has a worn, homely appeal with deeply saturated colours that offer a strong sense of authenticity and security to the jeans.
Blue is frankly a colour that one can never have too much of in their wardrobe, and Flying Horse’s expansion from jeans into other apparel sees them utilise beautiful hues of teal and sea blue within their plaid shirts. This on trend approach is a welcome move away from the traditional red and green palettes often utilised for check/plaid patterning, offering an innovative and eye-catching take on what has become a modern menswear staple.
Further novel adaptations to the denim jacket see hefty zips added to a sturdy and deeply blue denim, creating a much more winter friendly piece as we move into AW13. Much like the aforementioned check shirts, these subtle alterations to classic pieces can really set an outfit apart, and it is something which Rix and Madan have managed expertly throughout the range.
