Goods By Goodhood x Universal Works Windcheater
Having recently celebrated the 6th anniversary of their opening, acclaimed Hoxton-based independent boutique, The Goodhood Store, attempt to one-up last year’s commemorative effort with the launch of Goods by Goodhood.
The brand, which has been in production for the past six months, sees the store collaborating with various friends of the company, following up on the promise of earlier ambitious capsule collections with names such as Norse Projects, R. Newbold and their long time favourite t-shirt designer, Gasius.
This time around, the retailer has joined forces with similarly young and independent fashion brand Universal Works, to release a new twist on an old classic. Universal Works (sign writer-cum-coal miner-cum-fashion designer David Keyte’s long-gestating passion project) released their first collection in the autumn/winter of 2009 and offer clothes with a soulful blend of blue collar and British heritage.
Deliberately choosing a staple piece to base the project around, the Goods by Goodhood x Universal Works windcheater builds on the timeless yet eclectic ethos of both companies by taking an iconic and much loved outerwear silhouette and applying a bold polka dot print outer. This helps bring it closer in line with The Goodhood Store’s vaunted philosophy of eschewing trend following in favour of innovation and a playful spirit.
The Goods by Goodhood x Universal Works Polka Dot Windcheater is available exclusively from The Goodhood Store now.
