Harvey Nichols Fresh Laces Pop-Up
The ‘Fresh Laces’ collective is set to take up residence in London’s prestigious department store, Harvey Nichols, for a one day pop-up event.
The Knightsbridge store will be converting its menswear department into an underground market, bringing together secret sneaker sellers, to offer customers the chance to snap up a pair of limited edition kicks and customise their favourite pair. Another attraction will be the exhibition of Michael Jordan’s Air Jordan X1s, which he wore in the animated Looney Tunes film, Space Jam.
Fresh Laces was founded by sneaker aficionado Nathan Massiah. The idea behind the initiative is to create a sneaker and lifestyle exhibition that incorporates sneaker re-sellers, streetwear clothing brands, art, photography and hip-hop culture within a unique exhibition space.
The event will be held on Saturday 20th July 2013, and will run from 1pm – 8pm. This is a great opportunity for all sneaker heads to grab a one-of-a-kind pair of coveted trainers, so a visit is highly recommended. In addition to shopping, music will be provided by Kiss FM DJs The Dixon Brothers and DJ 10 Faces. A competition to win a £500 Harvey Nichols shopping spree will also run throughout the day.
Specialist sellers include ‘I Want Your Sole’, who create mini sneaker key chains and iPhone cases; ‘Custom Eyes’, who help pair your favourite snap back to your sneakers; ‘Save Our Soles’, otherwise known as ‘the restoration man’; and, of course, Fresh Laces, who will be selling hats, t-shirts and jewellery. Sneaker sellers include ‘Dimension Sport’ and ‘Mr Sneaker’, amongst others.
