H&M Conscious Exclusive Range
H&M have released a preview of their new ‘Conscious Exclusive’ collection, which looks set to add formal wear to their established sustainable clothing line. Having already sold several successful casual ‘Conscious’ collections, which are made from recycled fabrics, the ‘Exclusive’ range promises to delivery exquisite party wear influenced by Hollywood glamour.
The collection blends traditional formal cuts with on trend, summer appropriate twists, creating an overall aesthetic look that is distinct without straying too far from convention. A classic black tuxedo with silk lapels forms the timeless foundation of the range whilst a wing collar shirt paired with a white bow tie offers a contemporary alternative as well as a more rakish look – especially if the tie and top button are left undone.
A bold suit in cream grosgrain maintains the sense of glamour but in a softer, seasonal colour. A pair of loafers, also in grosgrain, complements the aesthetic and provides an interesting alternative to traditional footwear. This look provides excellent inspiration for anyone who wants to step up their sartorial game in the summer heat without boiling in a traditional tux.
The collection is accentuated by unusual details. A tuxedo jacket with western style fringed sleeves presents an interesting option for smart-casual outfits whilst an on trend patterned shirt and floral detailing on many of the pieces ensure the collection is relevant for SS13.
The ‘Conscious Exclusive’ collection delivers what it promises: sustainable elegance. The collection launches online and in selected stores on the 4th of April.
