J. Crew U.K Expansion Plans Announced
Cult U.S. label J. Crew is reported to have plans for an exclusive menswear-only space in London. The popular brand, which specialise in wearable casual classics, made its first move into the British market earlier this year with the opening of a U.K. flagship store on Regent Street.
This latest announcement is part of the brand’s ambitions plans to further infiltrate the wardrobes of discerning British dressers, with five additional stores planned in the capital, one of which will solely trade its preppy-cool menswear line.
Established in 1983, the J. Crew swiftly became the go-to label for quality, well-designed clothing, bringing effortless style and substance to American closets. The brand enjoys a loyal following amongst high-profile figures in the fashion and media circles, and has been gaining increased popularly in Europe since launching its expansion project across the pond.
Currently boasting a portfolio of 333 U.S. stores, stocking menswear, womenswear, childrenswear and lifestyle ranges, this latest venture is the next step in its international business plan. In recent seasons, the New York based label has collaborated with a number of cutting-edge designers, including Prabal Gurung and Eddie Borgo.
It has been hinted that the new menswear-only space will take on a tailoring focused slant, in homage to London’s historic association with the craft. The exact location of the store is yet to be confirmed, but we can no doubt expect a smart and novel concept to complement the brand’s practical, style-conscious philosophy.
