John Lobb Saint-Crépin 2013 Shoe
Every year, on the 25th October, bootmakers the world over honour Saint Crispin, the patron saint of cobblers, by creating competing masterpieces in order to pay tribute to the man who, legend states, remained devoted to his duties as a cordwainer despite being actively hunted by killers dispatched by the Roman emperor.
With this in mind, luxury bootmakers John Lobb have produced the exclusive Saint-Crépin 2013 Shoe.
An extraordinary limited edition Derby, based on the brand’s iconic 2511 last silhouette – renowned for its impeccable line work – it is offered in four original and versatile colour ways: antique pine, deep purple, faded Bordeaux and ash black.
Each one of these hues is achieved by hand-applying coloured creams to each section of the leather, a painstaking method that ensures rich shades and depth of colour, which is built upon with further creaming.
The shoes are then glazed in order to take full advantage of reflective light, concluding the process and resulting in a shoe that is as rare and rich in character as the saint himself.
