Jørgen Simonsen x Osiris Eyewear Collection
Osiris is a new eyewear label that has released a 60-piece range of colourful and distinct glasses in collaboration with Danish designer Jørgen Simonsen. Though his name may not sound familiar, this is the same guy who famously designed Jennifer Lopez’s plunging green print dress for the 2000 Grammy Awards. Then working at Versace, he has also had stints at Valentino, Givenchy and Chanel.
This time around, instead of creating frocks for Hollywood starlets, Simonsen has created a fashion-focused eyewear collection.
On the collection the designer says: “Glasses are such a big part of fashion these days, it’s a huge market with increasing focus on and demand for striking design. Osiris is bold, modern and empowering, a fusion of strong, contemporary shapes and materials with unusual detailing in a kaleidoscope of colours”.
The range comprises of three key collections…
Colour Pop
“Colour Pop is an ode to life, love and freedom”, says Simonsen.
These frames will inject a shot of colour into any look. Taking inspiration from the Amalfi coast in Italy, the designer looked at the brightly coloured cars and gelato parlours in the area as the basis for the palette of the collection.
Bold red, purple and aquamarine frames provide the highlights.
Frosted High Tech
Simonsen looked to his homeland of Scandinavia for this particular collection, using innovative high tech materials and textures to create frames that are minimal, sleek and refined but at the same time unique and distinct.
Super Translucent
FashionBeans’ favourite come in the form of the translucent designs. The use of acetate with colour fades is not only on trend but offers a truly stunning and fresh alternative to standard optical frames.
With the B30 frames being a highlight, the 1950s Mad Men-inspired style has a moss green translucent acetate fade for a retro statement look.
