Having produced another standout installation at the recent London Collections: MEN, fashion east designer Joseph Turvey has once again proved he is fast becoming one to watch. After graduating with a masters from London College of Fashion last year, talented Turvey has been under the watchful eye of fashion followers and industry professionals ever since. His combination of wearable tailoring and stunning illustrations is helping the talented Turvey stand out from the crowd.
With an eye for the bold and beautiful, the SS13 collection from Joseph Turvey boasts more of his artistic talents as well as a skilled approach to cut and colour. As the common motif of facial illustrations weaves its way through the collection, each piece works cohesively with the others to produce vibrant looks fit for any fashion fan.
Working in a palette of pink, sky blue and green also emphasises the artistic edge and helps lift the collection to a more stylishly daring platform. As well as the facial motif, the use of mesh and leaf print throughout suggests a tropical influence. This strengthens the concept that safari inspired pieces will be a strong trend for the coming spring/summer season.
Stand out pieces from the collection include the mesh all in ones as well as the pink blurry star print suit. However, the defining element has to be the facial and eye scarf illustrations, both of which exhibit the true artistic talent of this young designer.
