Kith White Label Spring 2013 Collection
Kith, noun – one’s friends, neighbours or relatives.
Kith NYC, noun – New York based clothing and shoe store.
The two definitions above may not be as disparate as you think. Created by Queens-native Ronnie Fieg with the intent of fostering a sense of community and camaraderie, Kith definitely likes to keep things congenial and tight-knit. The company’s headquarters, materials, production lines, etc. are all sourced from and based within New York state, adding to the sense of solidarity Fieg strives so hard to achieve.
The company’s latest lookbook, ‘White Label’, adheres to this theme of fellowship and cohesion in a big way. Shot against the distinctive Gotham skyline by acclaimed New York photographer Tim McGurr (aka 13th Witness), the lookbook highlights the youthful, urban chic for which the city is famed and proves once more that the city itself is a subject with as much character and attitude as any model.
Extending the Kith family by including women and children’s garments for the first time, the lookbook features a stellar array of streetwear, crew necks, scarves and trousers largely fashioned in a timeless and brooding dark palette. Lightweight satin jackets emblazoned with the brand name, along with the names of trendy New York boroughs, are sure to be hits as transitional outerwear pieces, whilst the slim-fitting ‘Mercer Pants’ would make the perfect wardrobe addition as the general public continues to clamour for military-inspired clothing.
Perfectly capturing the essence of the brand, the Kith White Label spring 2013 lookbook boasts an impressive selection of pieces that ooze metropolitan cool. The collection is available now from at Kith NYC physical stores or from its online store in limited quantities.
