London Collections: MEN – Baartmans and Siegel AW13
By displaying an interesting fusion of sportswear with more refined apparel, Baartmans and Siegel have got fashion followers talking after their recent showing at London Collection: MEN.
After graduating from London College of Fashion in 2010, the design duo has since created collections that display their passion for beautiful and imaginative clothing. Their AW13 offering is no exception to this as it nods its head to the recent sporting trend whilst remaining refined aesthetically.
Working in a mixed palette of greys and oxblood has resulted in a clean and polished collection bursting with varied textures and a mix of styles. Whilst remaining thoroughly British with its display of traditional techniques and use of tweed, a wider appeal is achieved by its youthful sporty edge.
In a way possibly unseen before, the two definite styles are boldly clashed and placed together rather than seamlessly blended. This achieves a playful note and ultimately creates a current look that remains just as British.
Stand out pieces from the collection include the range of winter coats as well as the open waterfall cardigan. However, the suit is one of the most eye catching offerings and truly exhibits the skill and talent that lies within the pair.
