London Collections: Men Finalises Line Up
The British Fashion Council has this week announced the finalised show schedule for next year’s London Collections: MEN (LC:M). Designers at the January fashion event named in Monday’s line-up will showcase their AW14 collections.
The fourth season of LC:M, which begins January 6th, looks set to continue offering a diverse range of designs. Formal collections from Hardy Amies and Richard James are to be contrasted with more cutting edge looks from the likes of Christopher Kane and Margaret Howell.
It has been confirmed that Lou Dalton will kick off 2014s showcase. A graduate of the Royal College of Arts, Dalton has opened at 10am on Sunday morning every season since its inception. The event concludes on Wednesday January 8th with industry big-hitters Tom Ford, Burberry Prorsum and Paul Smith bringing the curtain down on proceedings.
LC:M, the brainchild of GQ Editor-in-Chief Dylan Jones, began in summer 2012 as a one day add-on to the female-led fashion week. The platform offers emerging and established talent a chance to present their menswear collections alongside some of the world’s most recognisable brands and fashion houses.
The fixture has enjoyed massive success in its past three rounds. As well as luring big names back from international fashion weeks, the event has evolved into a three day menswear spectacle. Shows across the initiative see renowned buyers, bloggers, stylists and editors flock to the capital to grab an exclusive look at future collections and identify upcoming trends.
London Collections is also known for producing some of the most eye catching street style shots. Images from LC:M AW14 will begin to appear on FashionBeans’ street style section around mid-January.
