Mark McNairy x C-Store AW13
Combining craftsmanship and quirky detailing with the aesthetics of the Stockholm, American designer Marc McNairy has teamed up with C-Store on an exclusive men’s footwear collection. The capsule collection features updated versions of McNairy’s signature shoes: the suede brogue, the crepe sole leather brogue and the black army boot. Silhouettes have been carefully redesigned in an autumnal palette, with special attention paid to the quality of the shoes, which are hand-crafted in England. The first of the brogues is fashioned in two-tone burnt orange and yellow premium suede with toecap detailing. The style is fully lined with leather for maximum comfort and durability, even when worn sockless. What makes this brogue unique is the tough Itshide commando sole, finished in a Swedish-inspired blue that contrasts perfectly with the warm upper. Shortly behind is the Army Country Brogue. Despite being very similar in shape, this example features a lower heel and a natural rubber crepe sole. Once again, it is leather lined, but this time the outer is constructed from beautiful chocolate grain leather that gives additional texture. The result is a very understated style that can be dressed up or down. The final shoe in the three-piece collection is the Black Waxy Boot; constructed in premium jet-black leather mounted on Ridgeway soles. Assembled with the same attention to quality and comfort, and attitude. The detail that sets these apart and highlights the classic McNairy manner is the etched, ‘F*ck Off’ logo on the inside seam of the boot. The three pairs all come with high quality Goodyear welt construction and other marks of excellent craftsmanship.
