Maserati x Bowers & Wilkins: Seven Notes

Offering a unique partnership in sound, Maserati and Bowers & Wilkins have joined forces to produce Seven Notes – an original composition based upon the seven notes of the Maserati car engine. Bringing together a Maserati car, a legendary music producer, in the form of Howie B, and Abbey Road Studios in London, the two brands commissioned this captivating piece, which they describe as “isolating and recording the notes of a Maserati engine, and using them to create music”. Involving three different studio environments and months of planning and execution, the result was two unique pieces of music.

“With every project, whether it’s with Björk or U2, my role as a producer is to bring out the best of the artists I work with. Although this project is like nothing I’ve done before, the challenge for me is the same: to find the music in this car.” Howie B, Musician & Producer

Seven Notes is currently on a worldwide tour, featuring eight locations where guests are invited to hear the music from the project and explore the sounds of the Maserati engine through live performances and audio-visual installations. The tour hit London on the 17th July and also offered attendees the chance to be among the first people to see Maserati’s stunning new Quattroporte car and experience the Bowers & Wilkins premium sound system in action.
