The man and mind behind Men’s Style Pro, Sabir Peele, has amassed a gargantuan following of men whom he guides and inspires through his increasingly popular blog. Dubbed one of the five best dressed real men in America by Esquire in 2010, the attached credential alone is one worthy of celebration.
However, never one to rest on his laurels, Mr Peele provides continual evidence of his accolade by regularly documenting his personal style online.
Starting off as a college admissions officer, Peele launched himself into the world of men’s style with his title in hand. His musings are now not only a great stop for any man looking for sartorial instruction but the icon himself can also be found collaborating with some major menswear players. Those who have benefited from attaching Mr Peele to projects include the likes of Johnston & Murphy, Indochino, Neiman Marcus and Mantorii.
The collaboration with Mantorii yielded a limited edition custom double-monk shoe, which offers some great half-brogue detailing on the toe cap and comes in a sophisticated tan brown. The design accurately reflects Peele’s ‘of the moment’ styling, which remains inherently timeless by nature.
Our icon has also been featured in a national ad campaign with Johnston Murphy entitled ‘Meet the McPherson Men’, which you can view below:
Sabir Peele: Style Pro
Peele’s style is something that we here at FashionBeans often allude to: timeless and refined, yet retains a certain level of individuality, without bordering on the outlandish or inaccessible.
[Editor’s note: being in charge of putting together lookbooks for all articles featured on site, I have found that no matter what the article’s focus, a quick image search on Google will ALWAYS bring up one of Mr Peele’s outfits. He seems to have a knack and desire to almost stay ahead of trends and rock his own unique take before it hits the mainstream. It really is extraordinary how he seems to consistently do this each and every season, year after year.]
Drawing inspiration from American collegiate style and Italian swag (a melting pot made in heaven), Peele recently confessed his desire to swap wardrobes with Lapo Elkann, another man who can count himself among the FashionBeans icons of style.

Often incorporating tailoring (in some form) within his ensembles, Mr Peele clearly knows his way around a suit – donning them in a variety of ways with consummate ease. Whether it is a waistcoat and chino pairing, a bold double-breasted blazer or simply a stand out khaki suit, our man illustrates exactly, without fail, how tailoring should be worn. Peele appears to effortlessly avoid the disastrous pitfall of the clothes wearing the man, rather than the other way around, every single time.
Of course, outside of tailoring, Peele’s style still fails to falter. Making excellent use of the denim jacket (a firm FashionBeans favourite) as both a smart-casual and off-duty option is just one of the ways in which he broadens his style spectrum. His outfits, appropriately rather than arrogantly, earn him the self-appointed title of ‘Men’s Style Pro’.
A major part of Peele’s appeal is his fresh footwear game. Be it the exquisite double-monks he designed with Mantorii, a pair of white bucks or even a basic pair of low-top Converse, Peele not only pulls them off but also understands the importance of good shoes.
Finally, the truly enviable aspect of Peele’s impeccable style is that he does it all on a budget. This icon has mastered the art of thrift store, high street and smart sale shopping. Creating a look that gives the impression of much money spent – when in fact it’s been carefully curated through selective shopping – is what today’s icon does better than most.

Inspired By Looks
Look One: Tailored
The khaki suit is a great spring/summer option, and one advocated regularly by Mr Peele – who wears it both as a whole and as separates.
A checked shirt layered underneath, coupled with a plain tie (which picks out the navy in the shirt) adds a touch of personality that would otherwise be unachieved with a classic white button-down.
Accessorise with a neatly folded pocket square before finishing with a pair of white Derbies and the illusion of going sockless:
- Jeff Banks 24:7 Checked Premium Shirt
- Reiss Cutler Silk Knitted Tie Navy
- Asos Slim Fit Cotton Suit In Stone
- Allsaints Ravine Pocket Square Set
- Topman Black Invisible Shoe Liners
- Mark Mcnairy Suede Derby Shoes
Look Two: Bold Blazer
The Italian influences in Peele’s style are clearly evident. The 27-year old favours bold, statement blazers – in particular, those of the wide lapel, double-breasted variety. This red, deconstructed version is perfect for taking a nod from this icon.
White trousers are the epitome of Mediterranean chic and help anchor the outfit – providing the perfect backdrop for your jacket to shine.
The blue shirt is a timeless essential. Work in a classic pattern, such as stripes or checks, under the blazer to create a gradual flow between the trousers and jacket. Finish off with some rakish loafers for the perfect off-the-cuff look that oozes continental style and sophistication:
- Topman Light Blue Gingham Long Sleeve Smart Shirt
- Slowear Montedoro Cotton-twill Blazer
- Rag & Bone Rb7 Chino Trousers 148156
- H By Hudson Tyska Tassel Loafers In Black
Look Three: Off-Duty Denim
Peele pulls off laid-back style and sartorial know-how with equal aplomb. The key to Mr Peele’s casual success is that he retains a lot of the basic principles that make his suiting so popular. These basics are something that should run consistently across your wardrobe e.g. nailing the fit, colour combinations and perfecting the details.
Layer a denim jacket over a plain tee. Nonchalantly roll or turn up the sleeves and pop a pocket square in the left breast pocket for added style points. Simple navy trousers are a great accompaniment to most pieces found in a man’s wardrobe. Again, give the hems a couple of turns before finishing with minimalist white sneakers and a backpack for all your essentials.
This would be the perfect outfit for any college/university student who likes to remain a notch above the other men on campus:
- Allsaints Baxley Crew T-shirt
- Asos Denim Jacket
- Reiss Braz Lapping Disc Print Hank Orange
- He By Mango Cotton Suit Trousers
- Mismo Leather-trimmed Canvas Backpack
- Common Projects Achilles Low Sneakers
Peele’s personal style is one that reflects the FashionBeans ethos superbly. His style is effortlessly timeless, sensible and makes use of the capsule wardrobe concept. To this icon, versatility and long-lasting appeal is king. Yet, he is obviously bang up to date with current industry influences and doesn’t sacrifice the personal additions – such as a Johnny Walker lapel pin or pocket square – that make his style individual.
