Born out of a desire to give something back to the charity that helped him as a child, Mercy & Wild is the creation of British model Issac Carew. Founded in collaboration with friend and marketing guru Ty Akingbola, Mercy & Wild offers a collection of unique graphic t-shirts, which aim to “transcend current trends” and provide season-less styles that will have you reaching into you wardrobe time and time again. After receiving help from Dyslexia Action as a child, Issac wished to do something that would in turn be able to help other young people who are struggling to manage their condition. With this in mind, 25 percent of each t-shirt sale goes to charity in the perfect fusion of fashion and fundraising. But what of the t-shirts themselves? It can often happen that in order to create better margins, charity tops lack the same quality as other mainline brands, but with Mercy & Wild this simply isn’t the case. Made from 100 percent organic cotton, these thick durable jersey t-shirts offer maximum comfort with a great cut. Mercy & Wild commissions five illustrators a season to create designs centred around a charitable cause – the debut charity being the aforementioned Dyslexia Action charity. The brand carries a strong ethical message at its very core, meaning that everything from the fabric to the tags and business cards they produce are eco-friendly. The t-shirts are made in India in a small solar-powered factor, which meets the Fair Wear Foundation standard regarding worker’s hours and pay.
