London based and family run brand MQT, founded just five years ago, has quickly become renowned for their engineering of top quality chinos and denim.
The label’s full name tells you everything you need to know about this British brand – “Mastering Quality Tradition”. This description is anything but deceptive, as MQT’s whole ethos is based on producing leg wear of the highest quality.
The brand’s expert knowledge of manufacturing has been passed down through three generations of the founding family, with some members previously working for Levi’s. It is this knowledge of “authentic European manufacturing” that inspires each range and garment produced by MQT.
The latest SS13 collection features their usual raw Japanese selvedge denim and a colourful chino range. It is undeniably their most diverse collection yet, featuring many intricate details and a wide selection of materials and cuts. The colour palette of chinos and shorts has huge depth, varying from subtle beige to mahogany tones – this colour spectrum aims to reflect vintage heritage aesthetics, hence the rustic feel.
The accompanying lookbook also sees MQT move into the realms of trouser tailoring, releasing new shapes such as twisted, skinny and low rise trousers and shorts. It’s evident from the lookbook that the MQT designers have paid specific attention to creating complementary draping, resulting in a relaxed fit, which is ideal for your summer beachwear.
As well as the stunning leg wear on display, the SS13 lookbook also features Micheal McCaughley – a well known runway model who showcases the collection.
If you’re looking to refresh your high summer wardrobe, the MQT SS13 range provides you with a wide variety of excellent options. You can shop the new range now at selected retailers online.
