I recently noticed the current on-going debate on our fashion forum concerning New Balance trainers, where all of you have been kindly sharing your views on this prominent brand that has yet again taken over the world of men’s footwear.
As a long distance runner throughout my teenage years, I would often be seen in a pair of New Balance trainers – albeit as a running shoe rather than a fashion statement. Therefore, I have an automatic attraction to these functional shoes recognized for their downward facing ‘N’ branding.
Whilst it’s evident from scanning the forum thread that some of you might not favour the use of these trainers as a true fashion piece, there is a large contingency who adore the aesthetics of the shoes and the supreme comfort they provide. It has also been kindly pointed out that New Balance trainers were a noted feature of Pitti Uomo 2013 – a style certification if there ever was one!
This pair of NB M890′s in Lumo Green is undoubtedly a bold choice of trainer, coming in an almost fluorescent colour that only reinforces our recent trend report that advocated the use of fluros and neons for SS13.
Like all of their trainers, New Balance have put a significant amount of thought into the technology incorporated into the shoe. The American brand have uniquely designed it to suit midfoot, forefoot and heel strike walkers or runners, meaning it should comfortably fit any shape or style of foot.
Although the primary colour of the shoe seems bold, the design itself is very simple and contrasts the striking green with minimalist black and white trim. Perhaps the best thing about this shoe is its versatility, whether you are looking for a stylish running/gym shoe or an edgy trainer to couple with slim jeans and a fixed speed bicycle, the M890 will cater to your specific footwear requirement.
