Newman Spring/Summer 2014 Collection
French brand Newman has teamed up with former Jean Paul Gaultier photographer Rainer Torrado to launch their spring/summer 2014 lookbook. Alongside model Guerrino Santulliana, Torrado – who has contributed to several international editions of Vogue – seamlessly captures the simple and wearable nature of the collection.
Working in a summery palette of hot oranges, deep blues and warm reds, Torrado teams his minimalist approach with the refined aesthetic of Newman throughout, with slim fits and light tailoring appearing consistent.
Block-colors with pinstripes make for a modern nautical style, whilst the contrasting trims and layers steer towards a more youthful approach. Those unafraid of color will adore this collection, with its mixed tonal looks running alongside more sporadic pops.
Highlights within the collection include a pair of orange chinos and red city shorts. However, the key piece is the vibrant red jacket. With its timeless design and modern hue, the light outerwear is perfect for injecting a shot of flair and individuality into any summery look.
With the temperature having dropped considerably over the weekend it’s difficult to even picture a warm summers day. Yet, as any fashion follower will know, the industry runs one season in advance so it’s never too early to be planning for SS14. With this in mind, allow Newman to assist the escape from the cold winter to come and introduce a stylish spot of colour to these chilly days.
