Oliver Sweeney is a British brand that has been at the forefront of shoe design since the 1990s. A brand not content with walking a path along the straight and narrow, it understands the looks and trends of today and pushes the boundaries in shoe design to cater for a multitude of tastes and customer requirements. From formal shoes through to tattooed shoes, Oliver Sweeney continues to grow with every step and this recent collaboration with Matthew Miller is once again a step in the right direction.
The forward thinking Matthew Miller is known for his use of technical fabrics and bold statements. His penchant for blending sportswear with traditional tailoring is at the very heart of this latest collaboration.
With inspiration from packaging and the use of abrasivato (a type of soft calfskin leather), the two lines within this collection – ‘Lang’ and ‘Bateman’ – provide whole-cut shoes and trainers with unique detailing.
The ‘Lang’ range exposes British abrasivato calf leather to open cut-outs and thick grosgrain laces on an XL Fin Projects sole; available in both black and black/white.
The Bateman range features the same abrasivato leather, cut-outs and laces but on a gum cup sole; available in black, black/white and grey.
Overall, the collection is both vivacious and exciting. It is available online for pre-order now.
