Pretty Green Iridescent Jacket
Liam Gallagher’s Pretty Green label has just released a brand new coat that serves as a taster of what’s to come within their full AW13 collection. Inspired by the terrace wear made popular during the mid-nineties by British style-conscious football fans, the jacket is a great everyday piece that nods to the label’s musical heritage.
What makes the jacket truly unique is the brand’s choice of fabric. Producing an optical iridescent effect, it has an almost metallic feel and is certainly on trend after Burberry pushed metallics hard throughout their 2013 collections.
The jacket is priced at a reasonable £95 and constructed from a polyester and nylon mix – this combination helping produce the coat’s the unique finish. A firm favourite of Gallagher’s, the artist actually wore it to this year’s NME awards. The jacket and the impending AW13 collection looks to emphasise a 1990s silhouette and the jacket itself is extremely reminiscent of the rock star’s Oasis days, though this time instead of khaki it has been updated in rich navy.
A further design feature is a concealed hood that is zipped up in the collar – ideal for those unexpected winter downpours. The jacket comes complete with a full-length button front fastening, two deep-buttoned chest pockets and an adjustable drawstring waist. Available in blue, green and brown each colour way would seamlessly integrate within your current wardrobe and make the perfect lightweight transitional jacket.
The Iridescent Jacket is available now from Pretty Green stores and online at PrettyGreen.com.
