With the sun finally starting to peak through the clouds, Quba’s spring 2013 collection celebrates the return of lighter days and anticipates the British summer that lies ahead.

The collection offers a wide range of basics – including printed t-shirts, polos, shirts, chinos and jackets – which are all brought bang up to date in a palette of sun washed pastels and seasonally appropriate navy and white.

The pieces provide a flattering, masculine silhouette and fully take into account the unreliable British weather – offering protection from those spring showers and chilly nights.

A strong nautical theme runs throughout the collection, especially in the casual pieces on offer, with shirts coming in both in solids and Breton striped variations.

Mixed in with the underlying nautical feel, there is a sports/rugby influence with the inclusion of the ‘Christow’ striped rugby top. The cotton shirt is pre-laundered for greater comfort and comes in white with horizontal navy stripes, with an appliquéd vintage number patch on the left chest.

However, the stand out piece has to be the ‘Mariner Mac’. Taking its design inspiration from traditional fisherman’s oilskins, the brand have given it a contemporary makeover in an on trend aqua colour way. The waterproof jacket is lightweight, mid-length and comes in a comfortable fit for greater mobility, giving you the perfect excuse to layer through the transitional season and into the cool summer nights.
