River Island Holloway Road Collection
Spring/summer 2013 will see the showcasing of a new Holloway Road collection from River Island. Available to buy in stores and online from March, this year’s initiative will focus more on the engineering of the garments in order to bring new energy to this classic British heritage inspired style.
Lighter fabrics and relaxed silhouettes will signify the arrival of summer trends for River Island. With the strong industrial feel behind the collection coming in the form of denim and work wear, new design techniques will bring pieces to life in a variety of different washes and silhouettes.
The bright hues associated with the warmer months are still echoed through shades of pink, green and blue whilst traditional prints have not been forgotten with the inclusion of Aztec and floral designs.
One of the major advantages of the Holloway Road line is the versatility and easy transition between pieces. Lightweight jackets and shorts that could be suitable for the office have been styled down with accessories and patterns – highlighting the possibility of blurring the line between casual and formal.
A strong British design aesthetic is reinforced by the various garments on offer. Long sleeved shirts and jackets are paired with shorts and canvas shoes to allow for the often unpredictable weather of a typical spring day.
