It seems that Folk Clothing would like to know the whereabouts of their shoes that have been sold to loyal customers over the years. So intrigued in fact, that they have re-launched their popular ‘Show Us Your Shoes’ competition, whereby customers who own a pair of Folk shoes are required to take a snap and post it on the brand’s Facebook page or send it in via email.
I very much agree that a pair of good quality, stylish shoes look even better when they become worn in due to the amount of wear. The creases, scuffs and colour variation add character and a vintage feel. This has never been more evident than it is when browsing through this year’s entries, as slightly battered shoes are presented in an array of creative, fun and amusing ideas.
Concepts entered in the competition so far include an avid buyer arranging his purchases to spell the label name Folk, a boot being attacked by toy plastic soldiers or Mr Potato Head and a pair of suede lace up shoes strapped onto vintage roller skates.
The prize for the three selected winners is a pair of shoes of the entrant’s choice. Unfortunately, the competition is now closed and Folk are currently judging the images ready to announce the winners.
