Simon Carter Menswear AW13
British label Simon Carter have become synonymous with men’s accessories – in particular, their fun yet elegant range of cuff links. However, this AW13 the label will – for the first time ever – make its clothing collection available to purchase via its official website, in addition to their London stores.
Inspired by Hitchcock’s 1935 film The Thirty Nine Steps, the collection travels through England and into the borders of Scotland, pairing British tweed fabrics with rich corduroy and flannels. Predominantly comprising slim-cut suits, tailoring separates and poplin shirts, it is a range that combines the finest elements of British style and is perfect for any sartorial-inclined gent.
Highlights include the overcheck herringbone blazer, which features a tailored fit and a slightly shorter cut for an updated feel. Coming complete with cord contrast jets, a feature print lining panel and leather buttons, the jacket would make a great investment piece and is extremely versatile. Wear with smart trousers and a shirt and tie for the perfect business-casual ensemble, or dress it down with the collection’s cords and chinos, which come in a selection of colours, including on trend burgundy and cobalt blue.
Other stand out lines include the selection of Liberty print long-sleeve shirts – a great alternative to traditional block-colour versions. The shirts are priced at £130 and come in a variety of different styles, including the ‘Emilia Flowers’ design that features a striking floral print in a palette of green and pink.
Suiting, of course, makes up a large part of the collection, with the brand offering the perfect mix of classic (charcoal and navy two-pieces) and contemporary (a stunning burgundy 3-piece).
