The mobile phone market is bloated with smartphones of all different calibres – but few, if any, can match Tag Heuer’s new ‘Prestige Light Gold Mobile Phone’. Costing a dainty €10,000, it is made from every fine material you can think of.
Based around the design and style of Tag Heuer’s famous watches, the body of this mobile behemoth features visible screws as a clue to its construction from “classic watch components”. The focus here is evidently on unsurpassable quality, with the fine detailing made from over 5.7 grams of rose gold and a back panel of alligator leather.
Ostentatious? definitely, and whilst seeming rather cumbersome in departing from the incredibly minimalistic aesthetic of most modern smartphones, this is not a product for most modern smartphone users.
The handset runs Android’s latest operating system, and on top of this Tag Heuer provides its own security and TAGLINK communications services to boost the phone’s potential.
It’s largely impossible to give style advice for a mobile phone, given the huge variety of situations in which you’ll use it. However, that being said, you can hardly wear jogging bottoms while typing on a €10,000 keyboard, right?
