Still going strong after 25 years; Ted Baker have unveiled their new footwear collection for SS13. Their new collection opens with the line “putting the ‘man’ into manners and ‘cor’ in decorum” – and that’s certainly what they have done with the offerings on show.
We still see the formal shapes and silhouettes that we have come to expect from the brand, but this time around it gravitates to a more relaxed aesthetic, with a wealth of colour and casual finishes utilised throughout.
From contemporary striped wedges to simple rubber soles, the range is constructed from soft suedes in an array of warm pastel hues and hand-finished leathers in lighter shades of blue.
The collection has a fun and youthful feel to it, typified by the use of patent finishes. Patent leathers are generously glossy, and upon a closer inspection even glittery – just enough to inject some fun and not look too garish.
One of the stand out pieces from the range is the stunning ETTER model in black patent leather. Comprising of a wooden sole and patent body the shoe offers a classic silhouette with a daring high gloss finish. The perfect evening shoe and a great way of adding some sophisticated smart to your everyday work wear.
Other highlights include the colourful slip-ons, boat shoes and moccasins that are sure to put you in the mood for spring/summer. The ‘Aback’ model in aquamarine green, with contrast white sole and laces, will compliment any high summer outfit.
The collection is available at Ted Baker stores, concessions and Tedbaker.com.
