Three Leaves Spring/Summer 2013
Ethical menswear retailer Three Leaves has returned with a SS13 collection that showcases a range of quality menswear, all of which is held up to a high standard of ethics. Despite the eco-friendly focus of the garments on offer, no concessions are made in quality or in style, resulting in a collection that provides the best of both worlds.
The retailer’s accompanying lookbook relies upon casual wardrobe staples to create a youthful, everyday look. Relaxed t-shirts and vests are paired with lightweight jackets, shorts and denim to produce outfits that could easily be personalised with the right accessories. In line with current trends, the lookbook utilises panelled caps and casual shoes to evoke the skater aesthetic that is set to be big this summer.
A modern bohemian element is added with shirts and Henleys worn with slim jeans. Patterned pieces add quirky detailing to some of the looks whilst oversizing lends the shirts a dishevelled, thrown-on charm.
As with previous collections, all of the pieces are made from organic materials in an ethical manner. As well as organic cotton and vegan leather, bamboo blend fabrics are utilised. Lightweight and endowed with natural wicking properties, bamboo is a great alternative to pure cotton in hot weather.
Three Leaves’ spring/summer 2013 collection blends ethics and innovation with a timeless casual style that can be adapted to suit anyone. Whilst fair trade agreements and organic materials may push up the price tag, the range is still reasonable compared to many designer brands and the extra costs do go towards something tangible.
