Whilst the attention of the fashion world has been firmly fixed upon the new styles and trends seen at London Collections: Men this week, it is always nice to consider which of this season’s looks will carry over to AW13. Fortunately, Togs and Clogs have provided us with such an opportunity – in their round-up of top garments and looks for the AW12 season. The T&C team, combined with Manchester based photographer Sven Eselgroth, have formulated a lookbook that showcases a select range of brands sold on their site. Shot on the streets of Manchester, The Forager lookbook takes an ironic approach by utilising the concept of an urban gardener – juxtaposing the city’s urban/industrial history with the home gardening enthusiast. Textures, colours and prints are cleverly blended together within expertly layered outfits, creating truly individual looks that are not too brash or garish. There is also nothing too fashion forward – the lookbook features a variety of timeless basics that are brought bang up to date through contemporary patterns, cuts or detailing. It should be seen as a shining example for any of you who want to dress down but dress well on a daily basis. If you’re looking to stay ahead of the AW13 trends, you should take note of the red or orange colourings – these hues were key features of both the Topman design and Jonathan Saunders shows this week at London Collections: MEN.
