The leading name in luggage has released its AW13 collection. Tumi has unveiled a range of travel, business and lifestyle bags and accessories inspired by the golden age of air travel. The American brand, which debuted in 1975, gained success by producing high quality premium luggage. Its latest offerings are a nod to the 1960s, combining fashion-led design with technical innovation. Tumi has split AW13 into two separate lines, each catering to different customer needs.
Beacon Hill
The Beacon Hill range features leather briefcases and tote bags, with the stand-out piece being the brand new Smith Jetsetter. Designed to be the ideal carry-on bag, it comes equipped with compartments for a laptop, tablet and phone, along with carry handles and a removable shoulder strap. Priced from £575, the Smith Jetsetter comes in five variations: black, green, two-tone leather, brown suede and a canvas/leather mix in grey.
Tegra-Lite
Tumi’s Tegra-Lite suitcases are made from a composite material called Tegris; originally used in the manufacturing of Nascar vehicles. It provides 15 times the impact resistance and a significant weight reduction compared to traditional materials. The brand hold exclusivity on Tegris for the construction of travel products and accessories. The suitcases have a woven shell and come in a variety of colours, including black, navy, orange and green. Prices range from £595 for the international carry-on to £895 for the largest bag. Two and four wheeled options are also available.
