Drawing inspiration from the timeless styles of the 1950s, Australian brand Uppercut Deluxe favours a simple, traditional approach to hairstyling – but with a distinctly modern attitude. Made from high quality ingredients, formulated, tried and tested by barbers, Uppercut Deluxe is perfect for the contemporary gent who is looking for a great product, but without the frivolity associated with their salon brand competitors. Founded by Luke Newman and Steve Purcel, Uppercut Deluxe is built on the spirit of barbering; the tradition and the culture. The two are barbers by trade and started Uppercut as a response to the mass of mediocre hair products that they felt didn’t suit the atmosphere of their shop – products they felt were over-feminised and made for “The man’s wife rather than the man”. A year of fevered work with their chemist led to the creation of their first product: the Deluxe Pomade. The brand have since expanded their range of styling products to include clays and waxes, as well as diversifying into shaving creams and shampoos.
