Starting out in the 1970s selling vintage clothes and artistic collectables in Camden Market, husband and wife Eric and Lin Van Peterson have always had an active involvement in jewellery and ceramics. The course of their marriage has seen the duo develop their flair for jewellery and ceramics, first opening an antique store just off of Sloane Square and now their Walton Street establishment, home to Van Peterson Design.
Eric V. P. recalls their time in Camden selling objets d’art – “We were in good company back then – Annie Lennox and Anita Roddick were there doing the same thing, but we soon realised we needed our own place. Our first store was an antique shop near Sloane Square, where we specialised in selling Art Deco and Art Nouveau ceramics and jewellery. I loved antique watches then and still do!”
However as Eric and Lin developed their creative talent, adding their own designs to the other high end antiques on sale, they realised their future was in designing their own collections; resulting in the Van Peterson Design brand that we know today.
Whilst the company specialise in women’s jewellery, Eric takes an enormous amount of satisfaction from designing original men’s cufflinks.
It is his belief that “men with strong personal style use cufflinks as a way to express themselves. They are the sartorial essential for any discerning man.”
I couldn’t agree more – cufflinks provide the perfect finishing touch to a gentleman’s outfit, and your choice of style can say a lot about your personality and personal style.
Inspired by world travel, Eric’s sterling silver cufflinks range from zodiac designs and initials, to elephants and silver and enamel cigars. The diversity of the collection provides the customer with a wealth of choice and extremely unique pieces that you will not find anywhere else.
You can shop the full collection of men’s cufflinks on their online shop now.
