Vault by Vans x Disney OG Classics
Since 2003, celebrated American shoe behemoth Vans have been commemorating their four-decade-plus commitment to quality footwear, as well as their love of art, music and street fashion, by reaching deep into their vault and releasing upgraded versions of their classic designs. Many of these updates have been made exceptional via their use of premium materials, never before released colour ways and incredible collaborations. The latest such collaboration involves the architects of most twentieth and twenty-first century western childhoods: the Walt Disney Company – a team-up worthy of one of the epic fairy tales they made their name animating. Using pattern designs originally created by Disney in the 1980s, these long-discontinued prints are being reissued to mark the fourth instalment of the OG Classics line, and the first ten year milestone of the ‘Vault’. The OG Classics range is intended to salute the iconic vulcanized, waffle-soled Vans shoe style by presenting the silhouette untouched bar the exciting new outer designs. The original design specs have been left fully intact, ensuring the same size and quality that skaters, sneakerheads and even the most casual appreciators of footwear have come to expect from Vans. Both the OG Authentic LX and OG SK8-Hi LX are available in the excellent Donald Duck and Mickey Mouse prints in adult sizes, whilst only the OG Authentic LX boasts the additional option of a Winnie the Pooh print and toddler/child sizing, ensuring multiple generations of Disney lovers can wear them proudly on their feet. Vault by Vans x Disney OG Classics are available from selected Vault retailers from July 2013, but will only stay stocked for a limited time.
