Versus Versace x K-Way Capsule Collection
Versus Versace has collaborated with rain jacket makers K-Way for a one-off capsule collection.
Verus Versace is Versace’s diffusion line, aimed at the younger shopper. Originally established in 1989, it closed in 2005 before being resurrected by Donatella Versace in 2009; relaunching with a collaborative capsule collection with acclaimed designer Christopher Kane.
This time around ‘collection’ may be generous wording, as the collaboration features just two items: a rain jacket and iPad case.
On the collaboration Donatella Versace says “I love the Versus Versace and K-WAY collaboration, because Versus Versace lives on the street. The jacket and iPad case are an amazing new way to get the Versus Versace look, and to bring attitude and energy to everyday essentials”.
Marco Boglione, President of BasicNet, the company owner of the brand K-Way, added “the K-Way collaboration with Versus Versace is an honour for us. It was a very stimulating experience both intellectually and creatively. I think that together we managed to combine the authenticity and power of two great prestigious Italian brands with style”.
The K-WAY reversible jacket has been given a signature Versace twist; one side features an on trend optical monochrome print that was prominent in the recent Versus Versace mainline collection, whilst the reverse side is solid black with the company logos placed on either side. The jacket is made from waterproof, windproof and breathable Nylon Plus, with heat-sealed seams. There is also a full zip opening with protective flap and an adjustable fixed hood with anti-drop binding.
Likewise, the iPad case is completely reversible. One side features the same monochrome print as the jacket and the other features solid black colouring along with the brand logos – the Versus Versace one featuring an oversized lion’s head in gold. The case is lightweight, resistant and waterproof, with elastic straps to fasten your pride and joy in place.
The collection manages to combine the quality and practicality K-WAY are renowned for with the distinct and eye-catching design aesthetic that is instantly recognised as Versace. The reversible design means you can take your pick of style – be it timeless black or eye-catching monochrome.
The jacket is priced at £297 and the iPad case £79.
