Founded in the mid-noughties, Weekend Offender have grown at a rapid rate, becoming a huge national brand – now with an impressive flagship store found at 19 D’Arblay Street, Soho.
Known for taking inspiration from music and films, the SS13 lookbook is no different – using famous quotes from classic British films such as Quadrophenia, The Krays and A Clockwork Orange, the collection of images provides an idea of the Weekend Offender lifestyle.
“No, Kev, that’s it. Look, I don’t wanna be the same as everybody else. That’s why I’m a Mod, see? I mean, you gotta be somebody, ain’t ya, or you might as well jump in the sea and drown.”
From The Film Quadrophenia
The SS13 range sticks to Weekend Offender’s tough terrace-like styling with simple lightweight jackets, ideal for football away days, and minimalist shirts for weekend nights out.
However, what really stands out is the colour palette utilised. For instance, the green ‘Crew Jacket’, whilst providing a bold, stand out piece of outerwear, avoids coming across as flamboyant due to its admirable simplicity – therefore helping to maintain an understated aesthetic.
The rest of the range includes a selection of bold polos and crew necks that will blend seamlessly into your weekend wardrobe. A particularly interesting piece is the ‘Specs Graphic Jumper’, sporting the words “You wouldn’t hit a man in Glasses”. This sweatshirt maintains the ladish culture evoked throughout the lookbook and has been photographed in front of The Royal Oak pub in Hackney, home to scene of a violent trashing by the Maltese boys in The Krays.
With many big name celebrities now endorsing the Weekend Offender label, this lookbook will no doubt be well received.
