YMC x Clarks Originals Shoes for SS13
British brand YMC have unveiled another collaboration for SS13, this time teaming up with high street favourite Clarks to offer a capsule collection of footwear. Featured on the catwalk during the YMC show at the recent London Fashion Week, it is now available for purchase.
YMC have applied their mantra of ‘form follows function’ to iconic Clarks Originals silhouettes, resulting in a small collection of design-led shoes that perfect the balance of comfort with cool. The range offers the very best qualities of the two brands: the high quality and heritage of Clarks and the design aesthetic of YMC.
Quality is very much at the core with the use of ‘Blenkinsop’ leather, made by a premium English tannery to ensure the shoes feel as good as they look and, more importantly, endure this season and beyond.
The collection comprises of two classic designs: the loafer and chukka boot. These come in leather and are available in an autumnal-inspired palette of colours.
To begin we have the ‘Edmund Must’, which takes the classic chukka boot design and gives it a YMC update. The lace-up boots feature a Navajo inspired leather weaving motif on the top as well as double stitched sole, and are available in cognac and dark brown.
The stronger of the two silhouettes is the ‘Edmund Create Loafer’, with the brands giving the traditional driving shoe design an update through the addition of Clarks’ distinctive crepe sole and stitching. Not to be left out, YMC have also added their own distinct touches via the contemporary styling touches and use of coloured leathers. Available in red, cobalt, cognac and dark brown.
Overall, the collaboration perfectly fuses the strengths of the two brands, creating a capsule collection that is both high on quality and design. Another plus is that you can now grab a signature pair of YMC shoes but at a price point closer to the affordable Clarks.
