YMC x Liberty Accessories SS13

As part of their SS13 collection, YMC have collaborated with Liberty on a range of accessories, which includes the signature YMC rucksack and a small selection of hats and footwear. The Liberty department store in London was established in 1875 and is world renowned for selling luxury goods, as well as its textile and scarf department. It has been producing beautiful and original printed silks, cottons and wools for generations and continues to inspire due to their passion, attention to detail, colour and form. With this collaboration YMC have chosen iconic Liberty patterns inspired by nature, with florals and paisley used prominently throughout. The collection features two classic Liberty Art prints, which were hand-picked from their extensive range of archival fabrics. The ‘Katie and Millie’ is a signature floral pattern inspired by a design originally released in the 1920s, whilst a vintage paisley pattern in dark, moody tones provides an interesting contrast. The accessories are perfect for the spring/summer season, offering casual pieces that you can seamlessly work into your current wardrobe. Hats come in two designs: bucket and cap. The ‘Serpico’ bucket style was first launched by YMC over fifteen years ago and is brought bang up to date via the aforementioned Liberty floral and paisley prints. The caps are also available in both prints, coming complete with a short or long peak and a leather strap adjuster at the back. Shoes come in simple slip-on or lace-up designs. Both feature a cotton canvas body with a hard wearing rubber sole, and either style would make the perfect lightweight statement shoe for holiday season. However, the stand out piece within the capsule collection has to be the paisley backpack. Bursting with traditional detailing and craft, this backpack is constructed from cotton canvas twill and features forest green leather trimmings and brass clasps. The design comes complete with a leather covered drawstring top, buckled fastener and spacious front pocket, with padded shoulder straps for comfort.
