Anerkjendt Spring/Summer 2014
Rock ‘n’ roll meets running track in Anerkjendt’s new collection. The Danish brand has mixed the music genre with sports aesthetics and a lean towards urban style for spring/summer 2014. Steely greys and blues have replaced the earth tones expected of the label, while denim takes the place of textured wools. Many of the pieces are recognisably classic styles. Denim jackets – either sleeveless or sporting biker style patches – tap into the rocker influence, complemented by patterned shirts and Americana-inspired prints. Joggers, shorts and hoodies push the relaxed nature of the collection while soft textures create a contrast against hard wearing denim, fitting in with the brand’s laid-back approach. Cut and sew style sweatshirts and bomber jackets pick up on the sports luxe influence in a way that complements the contemporary styles. Printed pieces have become a staple of the Anerkjendt look. The playful nature of the collection is captured in prints inspired by everything from the jungle to classic cars and space. Since its debut in 2012, Anerkjendt has quickly established itself as a strong contender in the menswear market. The label’s signature aesthetic blends cutting-edge style with designs that are easy to wear. The Scandinavian brand is now stocked by the likes of ASOS, Mainline and Urban Outfitters.
