One of Italy’s most well-known luxury brands is celebrating old heritage with new technology.
Canali has honoured its 80th anniversary by re-launching the brand’s online presence. The new Canali.com offers a fresh look for the label, which has become synonymous with fine Milanese tailoring.
The website, which uses a clean and minimal design, is one of the first in luxury menswear built on a responsive framework. This means content adapts to the screen it is viewed on, from desktop monitors to tablets and mobiles.
A key feature of the new site is L’Edizione, an online journal intended to be regularly updated with features and practical styling tips.
Online content covers everything from Canali’s history and services to fashion and style advice. The feature, similar to one run by MR PORTER, currently hosts an article titled ‘Worn by Great Men’. The piece looks at Hollywood actors Michael Douglas and Alec Baldwin in recent roles where the pair wore the brand’s suits.
Canali plans to release a short film each month. The series will feature famous men revealing the secrets of their creativity and the steps behind their craft.
This month British actor Toby Stephens takes up the role as the focus. Stephens wears a single-breasted blue wool suit paired with plain derby shoes, both from Canali’s SS14 collection, which is available to buy now.
In addition, the site offers detailed information on the heritage name’s Su Misura made-to-measure service and allows users to book an appointment at their nearest store.
Canali is stocked in more than 100 countries worldwide, with the brand’s London flagship on Bond Street.
