Footballer Adds Shirts To Line-Up
The underwear line founded by Portuguese footballer Cristiano Ronaldo is set to extend to include a selection of shirts.
Representatives of CR7 made the announcement at trade show Bread & Butter in Berlin last week.
The range will be produced in partnership with New York-based designer Richard Chai and Danish manufacturers JBS Textile Group.
The collection will feature both casual and formal pieces, focusing on “faultless construction with a contemporary twist,” according to a statement.
Silhouettes, details of which are being kept hidden, are tipped to be clean and sleek, mirroring the 29-year-old’s own personal style.
Speaking about the collection, Ronaldo said: “Part of my belief is always being the best that you can be. The perfect fitting shirt gives a man the confidence to become the best version of himself.”
“Dressing well gives me confidence to be the best that I can be and underwear with a great fit and modern, stylish shirts are the starting point of every look,” he added.
The expansion of the CR7 brand sees the Real Madrid player continue his partnership with Chai, who has worked for the likes of Donna Karan and Marc Jacobs.
Several retailers are also rumoured to be on board, confirmation of stores and price points is expected in the coming months.
Ronaldo has been taking on fellow footballer David Beckham’s H&M line since 2013 with Chai on board, the same year in which he was listed as the world’s highest paid footballer by Forbes.
He has since appeared on the cover of Spanish Vogue with model girlfriend, Irina Shayk.
Aside from his own brand, Ronaldo has also fronted campaigns for the likes of Tag Heuer, Armani Jeans and Nike.
The CR7 shirt collection will launch online at cr7shirts.com later this year.
