Eyewear Brand To Offer Bespoke Glasses In London’s Soho
Spectacles brand Cubitts has opened its first flagship workshop on Marshall Street in Soho, London. The store opened a year after the brand launched their online E-commerce site, and has been designed as the the antithesis of a clinical optician. From early 2015 the new flagship will offer eye tests and a bespoke service: private appointments with Cubitts experts to help create and craft one of a kind spectacles or sunglasses. This includes adjusting frame size to the customer’s face shape, along with a choice of frame preference, lenses and laser engraving, all made and assembled in England. Custom software has been specially developed for Cubitts by German facial recognition experts. The Cubitts Facial Gauge takes your photo, and using a fixed point of reference, can measure the key features of your face, such as the temple distance, width of your bridge, and length and splay of your nose. A window display will also allow passers-by to virtually try on a frame through custom built augmented reality software. Prices start at £125 and include frames and prescription lenses.
